Personal Experience Who Am I - 1181 Words

In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: It goes on.† Robert Frost Who Am I? My time of existence begins as a child, innocent, and full of dreams. A life that must be chosen by one’s own self. Guidance and advice, influences, and events throughout our history tells a tale of who we are, and who we have become. All of these have roads that lead us from where we were to where we are now. Born in February, 1973, I was to begin my voyages. I am my own saga. â€Å"Dessert Rat,† as labeled by my father. We lived in Buckeye, Arizona for three years of my youth. There was not much reminiscence of my existence there, but a few dreams I do remember. The first thing that I remember is on one clear and quiet night, a thunderous sound from behind our home, roaring like a vicious storm, we ran outside just to see it was a train. Not just any ordinary everyday old train, but one particularly unique. Unbeknownst to me at the time, but as I grew older my parents had told me it had belonged To Elvis Presley, â€Å"The King of Rock and Roll.† A s elf-made super star, an ordinary man as he had wished to only be. Elvis Presley once quoted: â€Å"I never expected to be anybody important.† This had led me to believe, regardless of who you are, or what you have become, never hold yourself to be better than your neighbor. Later that year, in 1975, my father had suffered a major motorcycle accident, nearly losing his right leg.
